Ah, you loved me as a loser But now you're worried that I just might win
if you are reading this on facebook do yourself a favor and come read it on my blog Jonassykes.net
hey everyone, I been meaning to update but for the past couple weeks I been sort of wondering what in the world is there to talk about as there never seems to be a reason to write out anything.
But I am thinking now thats sort of the beauty of having webspace is you can sort of fill it up with the most inane trivial things you can possibly write
I want to start with some ideas I have stolen from other places. Frankly as some of you may know I actually use a quite old computer
it used to look something like this to give you an idea:
(picture)
I was looking over lifehacker and I have discovered a hack for getting youtube videos to play more smoothly.
as you know I take everything with a grain of salt and didn’t immediately base the ideas on actual performance so I tried it and without going into it I am just going to quote the real meat of the article here
Many users, myself included, visit YouTube on an almost daily basis. Ever since Firefox version 2.0 implemented the session restore function, when you are watching a video on YouTube (perhaps on other video sites as well, I haven’t really tested that), you may notice a tiny freeze-up of the video every 10 seconds or so. This happens because the session restore is by default set to save all open tabs every 10 seconds. This is especially noticeable if you happen to have a lot of tabs open at once.
The quick fix for this problem, at least for my own sake, is to increase the time between each of the saves performed by session restore. By opening about:config in your Firefox address bar, then typing browser.sessionstore.interval in the filter box, you’ll see a value of 10000, which is in milliseconds. (Meaning your session is saved every 10 seconds.) I changed this to 300000, or every 5 minutes, as I don’t have the urgent need for tab restoration. If you feel like being more on the safe side, try increasing it to something a bit lower, say 120000, or every 2 minutes.
so for some of you I imagine you have never messed with your firefox about:config settings and even less of you have no real reason to have tab saving set up to happen every minute. So I am going to walk you through but before you do I am going to provide you with a video so that you may judge the performance
here is the steps to take and you can use another video or the same if you choose.
in your browser enter the following about:config nothing else no http:// or anything
if you are using the new firefox beta it will warn you that you are about to void the waranty
agree to be careful and in the next screen in the field up at the top of the page copy and paste the following
browser.sessionstore.interval as you can see the interval in which firefox saves tabs is set to every 10 seconds so that anyone who has an older computer that is small but still significant performance problem. I set mine way up to 300000 which has been a significant service improvement. Restart firefox as needed and
also this is for Doug lol:
anyways, I think that is really about it
I want to say that the jackass who I bought my Bomb the Music Industry – Album Minus Band decided he was not going to send me my record and got himself banned from ebay after a couple weeks I filed a claim with paypal and got my money back by force (lol) and instead of buying the same record I decided I really wanted this thing which is back in print for probably a very short time

Assistant, The / Takaru / This Ship Will Sink – Three Way Split 12″ –
THE ASSISTANT deliver their final song on this split, a 7-minute epic of the same intense and varied hardcore they’ve become known for. With three vocalists and shifting from mathy and technical to quiet and mellow and then to all out crushing intensity, this record has enough ideas to fill and entire album and leaves the listener drained yet energized. It’s a fitting and beautiful epilogue to this bands inspiring existence. THIS SHIP WILL SINK follow with a killer song recorded at the same time as their debut ep that builds on the heavier parts of THE ASSISTANT and is just as shifting and technical but even more brutal. It’s furious yet delicate and complex and always engaging. TAKARU give us three songs of the intense hardcore that they quickly became well known for. Dueling vocalists deliver furious lyrics dissecting the workings of our mixed up world with an acute anger and passion that is hard to ignore. Delivering three songs in under four minutes, TAKARU rarely lets up their immense wall of noise, simply allowing it to swing from thrashy and blistering to plodding and doomy.
This record and these bands are bound together by their critical social commentary and desire to inspire thought and action. Each band uses their songs to examine and communicate about the world around them, offering both lyrics and explanations on topics ranging from the manipulation of statistics to the drug war and how we treat each other and ourselves. Insanely OOP.
